Prior to mating, our dogs have a veterinary health test to ensure they are fit and healthy. This is in addition to all of the health testing we undertake with our dogs. Careful thought and consideration is taken when deciding to breed and we are dedicated to health, the Breed Standard and sound temperament. We aim for the best outcome possible .... a healthy, show quality litter each and every time.

Do not be fooled by unethical breeders selling the 'rare colour' or Non Breed Standard (NBS or NRC) coloured Bulldog. Sometimes they reach very high prices, but also can be advertised for around the average cost of a true standard Bulldog and also cheaper.

It is known that unfortunately the non breed standard colours can carry health issues and exaggerated features, and worryingly the temperaments in some of these dogs are becoming questionable in recent reports from our breed rescue charity. The Merle colour is scientifically proven to potentially carry many genetic health problems and birth defects, and what many may not know is that a Merle colour does not exist in the true pedigree Bulldog. This is such a concern that the UK Kennel Club and many other countries will refuse KC registration to any Merle coloured Bulldog. Sadly, some of these poorly bred dogs will still get registered fraudulently.

Non Breed Standard colours include - Black, Tri, Blue, Lilac, Black & White, Chocolate and Merle. Sometimes these dogs will have a liver colour pigment around the nose/muzzle and eye rim and pale green/light hazel eyes.  Bulldogs should have black pigmentation and dark coloured eyes.

Please research the breed and lots of information can be found on the Bulldog Breed Council and Kennel Club websites.
